  1. Really good to learn of the open meeting for all fans this week. I feel it is very important now for everyone to collectively stand together to maximise their power and influence change at NCFC in the right direction. Whilst everyone has their own views as to what has gone wrong at the club and where we should be heading, I feel we must now (democratically) decide on 3 to 5 key points on which we campaign as a large group. This will ensure our action is focused and clear for all to see. The danger being if we vent our anger in different directions the impact will be greatly lessened. OTBC!!

  2. The root of our problem comes down to bad management right from the top, down. The board should never have appointed Peter Grant as manager when they did, as he had no managerial experience. Their next appointment (Glenn Roeder) thankfully kept us up but then things started to decline. Why did we not sign Martin Taylor on a permanent basis? - He was a rock in our defence and would have been the ideal replacement for the much missed Malky. Darren Huckerby should never have been released, he was ill treated by Roeder and we have missed his goals and creativity this season. Dion Dublin was never properly replaced, instead we signed midfielders (of which we already had a handful) There were too many loan players brought in and players like Martin, Lappin, Spillane, Renton, Chadwick, etc not given a chance. We let players like Shackell and Chadwick go (the later for nothing when even £100k may have helped buy someone like Lita). When Peter Cullum offered £20m for new players, the board turned it down, instead we have had to rely on temporary stop-gaps. Will players like Mooney and Bertrand return? - I doubt it!! When Roeder was sacked the club went backwards and appointed another inexperienced manager in Bryan Gunn, like they did when they appointed Grant. Although I like Gunny, he does not have the experience and someone like Boothroyd would have been a better choice. Now Joe Royle has finished at Oldham, why dont we try him? Ok he managed that team down the A140, but he did also play for us and has managerial experience of the lower leagues. The board needs to find outside investment and invest it on a quality manager and quality permanent signings. We also need directors who (like Delia) are prepared to dig deep into their pockets and give the manager the funds he needs for the players we require to get out of the 1st division at the first attempt. We also need to bring back Hucks!!!

  3. This board has presided over the most disasterous period in our history both from the perspective of team performance and fiscal management. Resignation of the board and a new managment team is the only way forward.

  4. A good starting point, but I am unclear is this the general feeling of the whole NCISA membership ?

I fear it will take much much more to wake this board into taking the drastic action that we all wish to see. I believe it will take continuous campaign using whatever means that are legal and necessary.

  5. It was ashame that the meeting tonight was cancelled but understand that we have to wait to see what comes out of the Board Meeting. I expect also that Bryan Gunn refused to come to the meeting after the roasting he got at the Open Day on Monday.

We hope however that a meeting will be arranged as soon as possible so that many of us can air our discussed about what has happened in the last few years.

We know we need investment from other souces but how can we trust the main shareholders with appointments when they have cheerfully paid the Chief Executive an annual salary of £189,000.00, paid the Chairman for his services and made 2 disastrous appointments as manager and then appointed Gunn as a cheaper option with no success.

Bryan has been a pilar iof the community, a superb ambassador for the Club but one cannot become a manager at the age of 46 with no experience in this role.

We must now look to the Youth or the lower leagues and get a manager who can bring us forward as for example Ferguson at Peterborough and Pearson at Leicester. We must also get our players into a winning mood - they seem to vegetate in Norfolk seeing it as an easy option and several of the fans look to them as 'gods' and should be more critical.

When was the last time we won away from home!!!!!!

  6. I would like to have it on record that i think mr gunn has been well out of order with his comments,he and norwich need to hold there hands up and say the club was set-up to fail by using on loan players who are in and out of the club so players finding it hard to gel, this is not a way to run a club, and i think he has destroyed any confidence left in players. There has been players who have been consistant for norwich and i do single out jon otsemobor who i think has been a good servant to norwich city.I can not say enough that the problem started when they employed glenn roader I think mr gunn needs to remind himself he was once relagated himself and publicly slagging off players is not the way to do it ,the work needs to be done ensuring bringing in long term players and not 2 minute stop overs.Mr gunn is not the person to take norwich forward i am confident if the board can sort themselves out and stop looking for scapegoats things may improve for the club.

    yours faithfully

  7. Concise to the point and a statement I support.

Notwithstanding this, my prime concern is that Delia and Michael must remain as the key investers - their devotion to the club is second to none and the abuse directed at them by some so called City supporters is nothing short of despicable.

The primary concern has to be for D&M to employ someone with the business acumen who has the competence to give them (and us) value for their investment. The performance of those currently "directing" the club has (in my opinion) been consistently woeful and at times nothing short of negligent.

Doncaster in particular stands out - we need a LEADER (not a spin doctor) and he cannot be allowed to continue to influence the remainder of what has proven to be a Board made up of either weak, incompetent or well meaning yet naive individuals. Such attributes are usually accepted within the public sector - we CANNOT allow them to continue at Carrow Road.

The valuable investments that D&M have made have been poorly managed to the extreme - the turnover of staff and players demonstrate this emphatically.

The current team management set up (Gunn, Butterworth, Crook & Deehan) should, in my opinion, remain in post for at least the next year as it takes time to reconstruct - and following the demolition job Doncaster and his cohorts have done, the club need to firstly build a solid foundation.

I believe that with D&M together with Gunn's team can rekindle the heart of our club PROVIDED the right Direction is in place and that a REALISTIC programme is allowed for.

I don't believe we can expect significant progress to be achieved in less than two years and that is with the right people in the right job - should we get that Direction the spirit will return and the progress be positive.

  8. A very consructive statement and one I fully support. This relegation has been coming for the past couple of years; the board have no footballing knowledge between them and trust Neil Doncaster to draw up a short list of managers. I believe that Delia and Michael are passionate about the club but do not have the people in the boardroom to support them. Rubbish has been quoted from the chief executive about our lack of money - fact is we had 9 million wage bill and wasted it. The game at Charlton too showed me how we need a different managerial appointment - someone who knows how to bring us back up. OTBC

  9. I agree totally with your statement. The board have to take responsibilty for what has happened to this club over the last four years. Roger Munby must resign, or be sacked as chairman and Neil Doncaster sacked as chief executive. How bad do things have to get at this club before they are removed?

Delia Smith and Michael Wynn-Jones must remain at the club at least until new investors are found, but Munby and Doncaster must leave at once. They have tried their best but they have failed. This club will not recover until new board members and investment is found. That process needs to begin immediately.
